Orthopedic Therapy
General orthopedic issues in the muscles, bones, ligaments, and tendons of the body can arise in numerous ways. Some injuries are obvious to us when they happen, like a snap when you twist your wrist wrong, or a fall on your knee during a run. But other injuries can be sudden or increasingly painful and can be harder to identify. It could be an adjustment from a long-healed injury, a disease, or post-surgical recovery.
Our physical therapists specialize in working with all orthopedic-related injuries, helping to restore movement, function, strength, and most importantly, getting you back to your activities.
Treatment
A physical therapist will evaluate your symptoms using a thorough assessment of your range of motion, strength, and flexibility. They’ll then design an individualized PT and home rehab program to decrease pain, improve your range of motion and flexibility, increase strength, and get you back to your former activity level.
Your treatment will depend on your injury, but may include:
Joint mobilization
Electrical stimulation
Soft-tissue massage/Instrument-assisted soft-tissue massage
Myofascial release
Stretching (Active Release Technique, proprioceptive and balance training)
Therapeutic exercises
Dry needling
